Why do you need motion sensors?

Motion Sensors function is to detect moving objects based on the motion sensed in a particular area. It provides safety and security by alerting whenever any motion is sensed.

A motion sensor is available for wall and ceiling mounting. The ceiling mount sensor can determine the range of the object of person moving till a particular extent. When it is wall mounted it can determine motion around an area of approximately 120 degrees.

Once you have decided to buy a motion sensor, check for the height of the ceiling. The height of the ceiling of your house does matter because the motion sensor senses motion in a particular range. So if your ceiling is very high, the motion sensor won’t sense it. This may lead you to believe that the motion sensor is not working properly but the fact is a lot different from what it seems. There are a few technicalities which you should consider before installing a motion sensor at your place.

For efficient working of the motion sensor, you should place it at a height as mentioned in the manual or installation kit. If you place the sensor at a long range, it may not sense motion and would fail to work efficiently. If you determine the efficiency of the motion sensor based on its cost, then that would be the wrong thing you would be doing. Never buy a product just because it is cheap. Instead check out for something that would be of your worth.
